Bogota, Colombia 1989

Most everyone in Colombia knew a war had been going on between the mafias, of the ones of Medellin, with those of Cali, & Bogota was in the middle. Car bomb explosions had been happening already in front of normal looking businesses, but these were ones owned by the dealers laundering cocaine money. One night, near our home, in the area of Alambra in Bogota, we were in an apartment of a friend having a prayer meeting and Bible study. It was at 9:45 pm, when we were praying ready to leave that we heard a huge rumble, the building shook, and then we heard something falling…it was all the broken window glass from 4 floors above falling to the ground. I recall we were 10 in the room, and a few were screaming in fear, but I made them stop and I pointed out we were all alright, God had protected us! We went outside and looking around found out that for 2 city blocks all the windows had been blown out of the apartments! I huge hole was in the ground where the car bomb went off in front of a corner pharmacy. And here is the miracle…In the apartment we were in on the ground floor, not one glass got broken or even cracked! That could not logically be explained as the windows had been blown out of every apartment nearby. We really praised God after seeing all of that! Another miracle was no one was hurt during that particular explosion. No matter if war is around you, God will protect you when you are trusting in Him.
