At our church/Corps location in Miami Hialeah, when it was the scheduled cycle for it, the election officials would set up tables for their voting machines. On voting days, we would have our parking lot full non-stop with people with 12-20 officials running the election process inside while many hung out in our lot in front. In the days that would follow we would almost always find a bag, appearing to be some trash left behind, with some unusual items inside. The papers and other items usually appeared blooded. A Puerto Rican brother, Herman, who would often help us clean up the lot, would always show me what he found. He informed me these items together revealed that Santeria was being practiced on our location! I asked him why, why choose us, here? He said Santeria is commonly practiced to influence and manipulate people. In the case of elections, the stakes are high, as those that practice this cult, want their people to get elected. He always said he’d take care of getting rid of the package and he would just toss it or burn it. After that we would pray, we would pray that the people who practice the witchcraft arts would not return to do any damage in Jesus’ name. The power of Jesus’ name is effective in rebuking evil influences! We did not suffer other types of demonic attacks, but we did become aware that many people do put their faith in these ritualistic arts. No matter where you live, you, and I, must always watch and pray to cleanse our area from any demonic influences as more and more people turn to these dark practices.
